Building Self-Confidence and Self Esteem
The following are more ways to build and improve self-esteem:
*Focus on your strengths-When our self esteem is low we only see our weaknesses. There can be a natural tendency for us to bring ourselves down rather than lift ourselves up. Make a list of your strengths and be proud of your abilities.
*Make your goals and dreams come true-Write a list of things you want to achieve. Begin making steps to achieve that goal from today and review regularly to ensure you are reaching goals.
*You are unique-Each time you compare yourself with someone else you are mistrusting your ability to make decisions and choices. You are an individual and you are original.
*Make a change-One of the effects of low self-esteem is a feeling of ‘being stuck’ and not being able to change anything for the better, which can lead to a feeling of not being in control. Begin by changing something small but significant about your life, see the impact this can have on your life.
*Congratulate yourself-Give yourself praise for what you have achieved. It can at times feel hard to believe in yourself but persevere with raising your self-esteem and don’t forget to look back at how far you have come in raising your self-esteem.
