Hi All,
Long time no "see".

Just a thought... Ever thought of having a quitting smoking subject? I quit 5 weeks ago today, and it really helps talking to other people, whether it's ex-smokers, smokers or non-smokers. It would be a great way to receive encouragement, tips on how to avoid cravings, and of course, emotional support. I've managed 36 smoke free days now, and I insist on pointing that out to people, it's so encouraging and really helps! When I realised enough was enough and I had to quit, I thought it was going to be the hardest thing I ever did... Now I know better!

Wow - well done you Applause . I know Sue gave up and I think there was a thread on this somewhere.

One of my many jobs is a NHS Smoking Cessation Advisor so if you need any help, please ask. If I don't know, I can find out.

With my clients we look at the addiction on two levels - the physiological and the psychological. It is often the latter that can cause the greatest problems and changing smoking related habits can be of great benefit.

Good luck with continuing your journey as a non smoker.

Lumps x

Well done!!! 5 weeks not smoking is fantastic. Applause

There is some posts in the 'recovery' section on stopping smoking. You could add more if you wanted too about what worked for you in giving up smoking as i am sure others will benefit from reading that.

yes well done!! I think you will find that you are over the worst now. I stopped smoking in 1999 (21st September to be precise) I was going on holiday with two non smokers. I stopped as soon as I was pregnant before that, but stress ... one thing and another .... like an idiot I started again after 12 years, but its taught me that the old saying "once a smoker always a smoker" is kind of true. Never think you can go back and have just an odd one. I do realise now that it has to be completely final, or just an odd puff will be two and so on.

But really great news! its a very difficult addiction to break free of and you've done it.. try and do something with the money you would have usually spent, put it in a jar or something towards a holiday or a treat.

Well done ...5 weeks is some going ... ... wow

Keep it up!
