Thanks for your mail.
The website doesn't seem to work very well. I can't
reach 'search for a counsellor in your area', can't
register, screens are coming up behind one another
instead of in front... The thing is, I fear people
will come to the site, find it doesn't work properly,
and go away, when you will lose them forever.
Not too sure about the appropriateness of all the
fairies and AA Milne figures - there is a difference
in my mind between being approachable and being twee,
a tension between being professional and being a free
spirit...
Lots of admiration for your enterprise and public
spiretedness in setting up the site.
Regards,

Hi Sue,
Well i can reach the 'search for a counsellor in your area' section both when i am logged in as dibs or as a guest (not logged in).
As a guest i was able to access the registeration page although i didn't register so not sure where the problem is, whether it was in accessing the page or the actual process of registering.
For me screens come up in front of the previous ones.
As for the appropriateness of all the fairies and AA Milne figures, well i think thats individual preference. It doesn't bother me, probably as i am a big winnie the pooh fan. I think it makes the site informal, and friendly. Yes the site is for professionals, but its also for other people - anyone with an interest in counselling. And professionals don't need to be formal all the time, professionals are allowed to like fairies and winnie the pooh.
I don't know what the word 'Twee' means so can't comment on that.
Not sure how many others don't like the fairies and pooh characters. Have people commented on them before?

To be honest, yes I find the look of the forum a bit busy especially with all the moving images, the big screens for the videos (that I never watch), and all the different pictures. Sometimes I find they make the page a bit slow to load and I'm on broadband so I imagine it would be even slower with someone on dial-up. _________________ ---

I'm on dial-up and it is very slow - but I never watch the videos anyway. I love the fairies and pooh stuff though. I'm happy with things as they are and am sure I'll get around to sorting out broadband one day.

Not sure really!
I feel the 'special effects' can be overdone and often I feel I would prefer a more anonymous screen than something eyecatching.
I too never look at the videos and I find there are possibly now too many forums which could be confusing if someone were looking for something specific e.g. 'Pose a Question' or 'Ask a Councellor'; 'Spirituality' or 'Paryersand Distant Healing' or 'Religions and Beliefs'.
Generally the site is a brilliant resource; the amount of theory and research materials that one or two members regularly post are excellent and I only wish something like it had been available when I was doing my diploma.
The debates are usually stimulating - if only people could learn to disagree without falling out!
So I suppose at the end of the day Sue, you are doing all the work so you do what pleases you most and I can choose the bits I want to access and the bits I don't.
Thanks for a great site

It looks great now and the site loads really easily even on FireFox (I know, I'm naughty and not listening to the advice to not use FireFox...). Thanks! _________________ ---

Sue
You're site is the best! Keep up the brilliant work!
Remember you can never please every single one.
Personaly, I found the site looked cute. And what is that about Pooh and the faeries not being professional? I am sure it was a man who wrote this emil to you. A man who obviously didnt have much understanding about computers.
Psychotherapy is all about getting in touch with your feelings, inner child etc.
To become more understanding and acceptoing of Self and therefore others.
About the pictures and videos on the forum. Many times we have asked members what they would like to change about the look. What to keep, what to bin, we never got replies before really, so I am very pleased that now people have replied. Also, one could have filled out the forum survey to let Admins know what they thought about the forum and its structure etc.
Another thing which I am aware of is that people are always quicker when it comes to complaining about how bad something is or looks and a tad slower (when at all) in praising good work. But that is OK. It's a human thing I guess.
All in all I find the forum very refreshing and easy to navigate through.
It wouldnt be Sue's forum without Winnie. |

Hi ***** thanks for you comments. The website seems to wrok well for others no complaints by any one useing the site. I have asked several members to search for a counsellor and they report it is working. Those that are registered can gain entry to site very well each time they try. If you cant register then you wont see most of site are you useing correct password? screens coming up infront of one another??? dont know what this is again no one else is experiencing this, do you have your pop up blocker on or have you a virus? "Not too sure about the appropriateness of all the>fairies and AA Milne figures - there is a difference>in my mind between being approachable and being twee,>a tension between being professional and being a free>spirit..".Thanks for YOUR OPINION. For those that use the forum they enjoy the winnie the pooh charactors some actually comment its what made them feel welcome and at ease when they first arrived so it goes to show all oponions are obviously differrent and yours is just one. For those that regulary come to the site and find inspiration, support and insight love the site as it is one size does not fit all.
Thank you for your admiration for my setting up the site.
regards

Yes I did mean to say that with that picture. Catfight.
I was aware that you tried to not bring that across in your email. But I was wondering whether you were so cool calm and collected inside (tummyfeelings).
In short:
You seemed calm outside and inside it MIGHT have been a catfight.
Thats just my little ideas. |
